That’s Entertainment

Formed in 1972, The Jam were and English mod and punk-rock band from Surrey, England. Originally, the group consisted of Paul Weller (on bass and lead vocals), Bruce Foxton (on bass guitar and vocals), Rick Buckler (on the drums), and Steve Brookes (on guitar and vocals). Brookes eventually left the band; however, the remaining trio continued without a replacement.

The Jam are known predominantly for their melodic pop songs, English style, mod image, and smartly tailored suits. Combining various influences, they managed to standout from other bands at the time.

They released a number of albums over the course of their career: Sound Affects (1980), All Mod Cons (1978), The Gift (1982), Setting Sons (1979), This Is The Modern World (1977), In The City (1977), and many more. From 1977 to 1982, 18 of the band’s songs made it into the Top 40 UK Singles. This allowed them to become one of the most successful bands of their time.
