The Martian 3D

The Martian is An Amazing adventure!! I really love this movie. The acting is top notch, Matt Damon portrays emotion in this better than I have ever seen him before. The 3D is really well done. Their aren't any pop-out moments but the depth that is added to nearly every single scene. I love space and a little comedy in my drama movie so this is right up my alley. In my opinion this movie is a must own for any 3D collector and for any action/drama fan. If you liked this movie read the book by Andy Wier it is fantastic. The movie follows the book very well and their is a lot of profanity in it but it is much funnier than the movie.

Alone on Mars

First come across the book via a recommendation of a friend who had picked up the recommendation of Adam Savage (Mythbusters), so when the movie was announced I was skeptical, however on watching it was pleasantly surprised. Damon as Watney is pretty good casting, of course there were changes from the book, however not too many, and the changes were subtle to keep the film paced. The biggest loss from book to film is Watneys solitude, the book is able to handle the Sol (days in effect) passing with more gravity to the impact on Watney, the film uses it, but doesn't have the same impact. The film itself has a great lineup, with each carrying their role fantastic, and even nicer to see Sean Bean in a role and he is still alive at the end :)
